More first-time buyers purchasing properties for sale in the UK

There have been a greater number of first-time buyers purchasing
properties for sale in the UK, a report has revealed.
Yesterday (November 8th 2010), Rightmove announced that the
proportion of homebuyers purchasing properties for the first time
over the next year increased during the last quarter.
It rose from 22 per cent to 26 per cent over a three-month period,
which Rightmove attributed to expectations that house prices will
fall over the next 12 months.
While one in five in the last quarter predicted that property
values will fall, this proportion rose to one in three.
Figures released by the Land Registry last month could have
encouraged these estimations, as it revealed that property costs
dropped by 0.2 per cent during September 2010.
The findings by Rightmove also revealed that first-time buyers are
beginning to join together in buying properties for sale, with the
number of couples buying houses for the first time rising from 60
per cent to 70 per cent over the last quarter.
